I remember walking down Madison Avenue in NYC and seeing a pile of pumpkins outside a flower shop. I pulled out my camera and shot a photo of those pumpkins. I developed that Tri-X film (in my bathroom/darkroom) and then printed it at the School of Visual Arts where I was taking a photography course. I can still remember the exhilarating feeling when everything came together: light, exposure, depth.
I have taken many images since (now digital) and the joy of knowing that the next one is going to be as exciting makes me love photography.
